DEVELOPMENT & MARKET COMMITTEE every 2 weeks
Chair Cllr A Chappel

This Committee comments on all plans received from N.N.District Council, it has executive powers when considering planning applications, licences and charitable collections. It allocates grants* from Fakenham's Market Tolls fund, and is also responsible for regulating the Thursday Market.

LEISURE & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE every two months.
Chair Cllr J Holdom

This committee is responsible for all cemeteries, parks, gardens, play and amenity areas, the hiring of Trap Lane playing fields and pavilion.


POLICY & RESOURCES when required
Chair The Mayor

This committee is concerned with personnel, policy and staff training.


ALLOTMENTS COMMITTEE quarterly

This committee has 3 Town Councillors and 4 allotment holder representatives.


MARKET EVENTS COMMITTEE when required
The members of this committee are 3 Town Councillors and 3 members of Fakenham's Chamber of Trade. They run the Farmers' Market, Craft Fairs and other promotional events designed to entertain and increase trade in the Town.

In addition to the above, Town Councillors serve on the following working parties :-
Traffic Management ~ Police Liaison Group ~ Youth Council ~ Tourism ~ Health & Safety.
